Wipro 3D is the metaladditive manufacturing company of Wipro Infrastructure Engineering. They have teamed up with Hindustan Aeronautics (HAL) to make 3D-printed parts. These are components that could possibly be utilized on aircraft made by state-operated HAL.

Wipro 3D is the premier Indian firm to regionally make an industry-level metal-additive 3D-printing device. This is by doing it jointly with the Indian Institution of Science. Wipro 3D and HAL will jointly design, create, confirm, make and repair aerospace pieces by use of additive manufacturing technology. This is a section of their memorandum of understanding.
“This initiative between HAL and Wipro 3D will create a unique synergy of capabilities that can accelerate the adoption of metal additive manufacturing in aerospace in India. Qualification of parts for aerospace is challenging as it would require prove out and extensive testing followed by certification by regulatory authorities which may also include flight testing. explains Shekhar Shrivastava, the chief executive of HAL’s Bengaluru complex.
He also said that metal additive manufacturing has the capability to play an important part. This is in the progress of defence and national aerospace platforms as well as HAL’s own needs.
Internationally, the aerospace sector has been among the leading adopters of metal additive manufacturing.
Additive manufacturing is the latest era manufacturing method. It utilizes solid material like metal or plastic similar to ink to print or produce the needed item level by level. This is called 3D printing or additive manufacturing.
Preferred product images that have accurate dimensions are fed into a machine to 3D print the needed specimens. This is by use of molten ink that later solidifies. CEO of Bangalore Complex, HAL stated that the joint partnership between the state-run aerospace and Wipro major will make synergies. This will assist to expedite the enactment of aerospace metal additive printing in India.
British assessment services vendor Lloyd’s Register approved the 3D printing company of Wipro 3D for quality assurance, in November 2019.
