BASF New Business GmbH has officially agreed to purchase Sculpteo, an online 3D printing service provider. This agreement was signed on the 14th of November, 2019 and is expected to be effective in a few weeks. The agreement is pending administrative consent by the appropriate authorities.

The acquisition will see BASF market and set new manufacturing 3D printing supplies faster. Sculpteo is in Paris and its management team completely backs the purchase. Therefore, the team will remain to offer partners and customers the increased service spectrum.
Current customers of Sculpteo will get a more comprehensive portfolio of 3D printing supplies. This owing to the combination of both companies’ strengths. Currently, Sculpteo offers a variety of 3D printing alternatives. They include 10 technologies and access to over 75 supplies and finishing alternatives.
“Through the acquisition of Sculpteo, we can provide customers and partners with even faster access to our innovation 3D printing solutions. In addition, our customer will benefit from an extended range of services.” Says Managing Director of BASF 3D Printing Solutions, Dietmar Bender.
“Together with Sculpteo, we are pursuing our goal of establishing additive manufacturing as a proven technology for industrial mass production.” Adds Bender.
Also, the CEO and Co-Founder of Sculpteo, Clément Moraeu said that they are excited to join the BASF team. He also said they will benefit from the outstanding R&D of BASF to offer their customers innovative solutions.
Further, the BASF and Sculpteo Design Studio technical experts will team up to support customers. This will include support in their 3D printing outlines from initial planning stages to the end printed portion. As a result, BASF will have a chance to provide clients end-to-end industrial 3D printing solutions.
For more than a decade, Sculpteo has run an online platform with combined production for the manufacturing of prototypes. It also includes the continued production components and individual objects with a variety of various additive manufacturing technologies. Clients in different manufacturing sectors across the globe utilize Sculpteo service to make fresh elements reliably and rapidly.
