ALSO is working together with the universe’s best producer of additive manufacturing materials BASF to market its Ultrasint® TPU01 product using the Forward AM brand. This material is specifically ideal for making the hard, abrasion-resistant and adjustable elastic pieces. These are those needed for leisure and sports shoes and by the automobile sector.
The latest thermoplastic material may be purchased from ALSO with instant effect all across Europe. The material was created for HP Jet Fusion 5200 series. This is a 3D printer line that ALSO now has in its product set.
Commenting on the partnership the CEO of ALSO Holding AG, Gustavo Möller-Hergt had this to say: “Additive manufacturing will only become a genuine production process alternative once the choice of materials is right and the result is convincing. With the BASF material, we are expanding our 3D printing portfolio to include an extremely high-quality product that can be used in the production of a wide range of goods and components – from sports shoes to automobiles.”
BASF specifically created Ultrasint® TPU01 product for HP’s new Jet Fusion 5200 series. Mixed with proper lattice constructions the thermoplastic element opens up completely a fresh new geometry of opportunities for designers and developers. This is especially in fields that require flexible compositions and shock absorption.
This is why precedents of applications to which it may be used are so wide. They vary from footwear, leisure, and spots to carmaking and mechanical engineering. Ultrasint® TPU01’s attributes make the product a suitable material for manufacturing and prototyping applications. They include small-batch manufacturing of shielding coverings and casing, complex pipe networks, gaskets, grippers, or shoes.
Apart from that, Forward AM provides service and material solutions across the whole value chain from product concept to manufacturing.
Starting with powder bed fusion through metal and plastic fibers to photopolymers, Forward AM is placed in the business with the broadest product scale in the additive manufacturing sector. For ALSO, this is an extra step in spreading its additive manufacturing portfolio. The product range of the technology provider presently includes 3D printers of various dimensions and for various uses.
This is from beginner level prints to upmarket technical and dental printers. Together with customizable and attachments such as industrial vacuum cleaners AND raising machines. Also, users and resellers gain from expertise that is coupled at the ALSO Centre of Competence for Additive Manufacturing, which offers complete single-source solutions.
